The Analects

The Analects (Chinese: 論語, Lúnyǔ; literally "Selected Sayings" or "Edited Conversations") is the foundational philosophical text of Confucianism, a collection of the sayings, ideas, and dialogues attributed to the Chinese philosopher Confucius (551–479 BCE) and his contemporaries. It was compiled by his disciples and grand-disciples over several centuries following his death and has profoundly influenced East Asian thought and values for over two millennia.
